Our VP Education, Jenelen Dulemba is at the reins working with the education committee to plan an exceptional conference coming up this March instead of April! I have received several suggestions for speakers and topics.  We want to make sure we hear you.  This is your organization, here to help you grow professionally, so make sure to let us know what you want to hear & learn about!  We have listened to you regarding the length of the conference, so it will be in Louisville, Kentucky March 20 - 22, 2011 with closing ceremony at dinner March 22nd.  Mark your calendar and look for more updates to come!

What an excellent conference we experienced last week in Atlanta! Thank you to all those who planned the conference for a job well done.  Thanks also to the speakers, 'actors', hotel personnel and AmericasMart participants for helping us learn and grow and have some fun in a comfortable setting! Now the board begins the plans for our next conference in Louisville, Kentucky April 9-13, 2011. If you as members have any speaker suggestions or thoughts to improve, please let me know so we can include them in our planning. I will try to keep you updated on a regular basis.  Thanks in advance for your input! Denise Steffich, President

It's almost conference time.  I can't wait to see everyone and share ideas.  Spring really is a time of renewal and conference always jump starts the renewal process for me.  The vendor show preparation is in full swing.  If you know an outstanding fundraising or gift shop vendor please invite them to participate in the show.  All the information is on the web site.  They can even register right here on line.  If they have additional questions I will be happy to talk with them.  Please feel free to email me kcollins@newtonmedical.com. See you in Atlanta!

With less than two weeks to go  I am really getting excited about attending the annual conference.  Cathy and her committee have truly done an exceptional job in planning our 16th annual conference.   Not only do we have an exceptional educational track planned but have added a new dimension of fun to the confernce.  This years conference will be one that will be talked about for years.

It has truly been an honor to serve as your President this past year.  I have had a wonderful board to work with. For many of our members we recoginze  how you have been impacted by the current economy.  This years board has been very senstive to our members needs and feel that this web site will have a tremendoud positive impact on being a tool that you can use daily to network with other leaders in your field.  I encourage you to talke advantage of the forum sections.

In closing thank you for allowing me to serve as your President.

It's hard to believe how fast this year has flown.  In just two short months we will be gathering in Mobile for our 16th annual confernce.  I promise this years confernce will be the very best confernce you have ever attended. Please review the educational sessions and you wil see how valuable they will be to all of us.  Alabama has so much to offer and you truly don't want to miss it.

Also I would encourage you to review the forum section on our web page if you have not done so.  I think you will be pleased to see all of the wonderful information that is posted there. I also need some help with a topic and since you all are the experts please share your knowledge with our group.

I just wanted to write a brief blog and let you know that I am thinking of everyone that has been impacted by Gustav.  I know the weather impact that we are having in Little Rock and it's hard to imagine the impact it has had on our deep south members.  I also want to thank everyone that has not been impacted but is picking up patients from other states.  Arkansas picked up over 200 over the weekend.  Please share your experinces through this blog.  We all have so much to learn on both a personal level in disaster prepardenss and as organizations.
